A call from gangsters living abroad has given Delhi businessmen sleepless nights. This call was made for extortion. In the last 10 days, three such cases have been reported from different areas of the city. According to official sources, calls were made to a jeweler from Shahdara, a businessman from outer Delhi and a property dealer from Dwarka in the name of fugitives Anmol Bishnoi and Himanshu Bhau.
Anmol Bishnoi is the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. According to Delhi Police sources, Anmol Bishnoi is believed to be hiding in the United States, while Bhau is hiding either in Spain or Portugal. During one of the calls, the caller reminded the receiver about the Rajouri Garden Burger King case and said, ‘Goli nahi chalegi in the air.’ According to the police officer, the cases have been registered at local police stations and transferred to the special cell and crime branch for further investigation.
A Shahdara jeweller has filed a police complaint that a person from Anmol Bishnoi gang called him and demanded Rs 2 crore and asked him to arrange the money in five days. The officer said that the call came on Thursday. A Dwarka-based property dealer has told the police that he received a call from Bhau on August 15. Sources said that an outer Delhi businessman also received a call from Bhau on August 14.
